An unconventional documentary crew, determined to find answers to an unsolved tragedy, will attempt to uncover the truth behind the deadly explosion that shook the Second Senior Citizens’ Centers in Alimos five years ago. Their persistence will bring to light stories of human trauma, loss, and resilience, through the lens of a blend of black comedy and moving drama.
The film is an initiative of the Alimos municipal government, capturing a heartfelt portrait of its community, as well as a representative image of the area. Filmed exclusively in indoor and outdoor locations within the municipality, it captures the serene beauty of the Athenian Riviera and explores social issues affecting the elderly, such as isolation, trauma, and stereotypes. The film stars members of the KAPI (Senior Citizens’ Centers), amateur actors from the Alimos Municipality acting workshop, school students, and elderly residents, bringing authenticity and emotion to their roles under the director’s guidance. The diversity of the cast—which even includes a brief cameo by the mayor of Alimos, is complemented by professional actors, resulting in an unparalleled, authentic reflection of society.
