I spent more than half a century at sea. I don’t want the land! The waters are my country. The ship is my capital. The swell is my language.
Captain Mitsos Avgoustis stubbornly refuses to retire because the swell has gotten into his head and the sea won’t return him… He’s been away from Greece for twelve years, estranged from his family and in conflict with the company yet bound by unbreakable ties to the twenty-two sailors of the cargo ship “Athos III”. Defiant and relentless, he finds cargo, docks at ports, loads and unloads, silently roaming the waters of the Pacific. Day and night, he struggles with the restless wind on the lonely journeys of the mind and heart, where his secret has anchored.
